*if you have them, bring and share your untreated, non-GMO, open-pollinated seeds (bought or saved), starts, cuttings or scions!

The first annual Free the Seeds! Seed and Start Fair in Kalispell, MT is completely free. We’ve organized it so it has information for beginners and experts.

There are 18 workshops that are gonna cover everything from

  • Seed Starting
  • Seed Saving
  • Fruit Tree Grafting and Pruning
  • Bee Keeping
  • Permaculture
  • Food Preserving
  • How to improve your Soil Health in your garden
  • Vermicomposting
  • and more

 

Over 30 booths with lots of information. Opportunities to meet  local farmers and beekeepers and sources for gardening information and outreach communities. Lots of kid friendly activities, we’ve got 2 films, scheduled throughout the day.

Is there ea cost to see the films? No the entire day is free. If you have any seeds you’d like to share or starts or cuttings or scions, but if you don’t we’ll fill them up with seeds!

The idea is everyone goes home with seeds for their backyard gardens.

2 Roundtable discussisons on helping our community get more educated about food resiliencey. One is with ImagineF to discuss a community seed library and the other is sponsored by the Non-profit Nourish the Flathead. Supporting local growers in taking in food resiliency and

 

Come to learn, get seeds for your garden, and have a fun day with your family. There will be activities for all ages.
