Mary Robinson on “What we expect from Americans” | Human Rights and Climate Justice

ClimateJustice

Mary Robinson is the author of

Climate Justice: Hope, Resilience, and the Fight for a Sustainable Future

She was the president of Ireland and the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights. I hope you listen to her words and are inspired to be the positive change in this world I know exists. I love my audience because I know they are like minded social justice activists and passionate environmentalists that can see a better world just like me.

“… True security is possible only when the full range of human rights ~ cicil and political as well as economic, social, and cultural ~ is guaranteed for all people.

But succeeding US administrations have rejected the idea that education, health care, adequate housing, and food are rights citizens are entitled to, sometimes contending that these are aspirations, not justifiable rights…”
